Thesis Title:
Apt. #3F

The paper will explore the historical and conceptual background of my thesis project, which will be a motion graphic animation. I have researched montage and collage, miniatures, and image manipulation, which are deeply related to my thesis, to locate my work in historical context. I have also explored how artists using various artistic forms deal with people in their rooms. Through the research of artists work about personal space, I tried to find out the reason why I chose the subject “a room” and “People and their environment”. Storytelling connects these subjects to imagery and form in my project. I will develop the idea of making different imagery that comes out from different imagination of people telling a story in their own ways.

Through my research, I located where my thesis can fit in a broad range of digital arts as well as the way my work can be unique and objective. I will explore how motion graphics can create more various dimensional spaces which usually demands a lot of effort and time when created in the traditional way. This study will open more possibilities to express my idea using techniques transferred from traditional animation to digital software.
